For ten years now, Betty and Eddie Wolfe, who came on aliyah from the United Stated in 1969 and reside in Kfar Saba, are engaged in voluntary work for children who are hospitalized in the Meir Hospital in Kfar Saba, as well as for needy families who visit the children’s ward of the hospital.

They wholeheartedly give of their time and energy in collecting contributions of clothes, toys and games for children who are hospitalized.

These contributions are made available from ESRA and donors abroad, and are distributed to needy families. They have also been able to enlist additional volunteers from abroad who send toys and clothes for the needy.

The Ministry of Health’s Award to Outstanding Volunteers for 2007 was granted to Betty and Eddie Wolfe for their most welcome volunteer activities towards hospitalized children and their families at Meir Hospital, and for their substantial contribution to the children’s wards in the hospital.

Only with the help of ESRA have they been able to do all this work.

Editor's note: Dalia Halphon is the Head Nurse, Pediatric Clinic, Meir Hospital and it was she who recommended the Wolfes for the award of the Ministry of Health.
