Passover Appeal

Spring is here, Purim has passed and Pesach is just around the corner. At this time of the year we at the Hand in Hand Food Pantry think of food even more than we do during the rest of the year. There are always (sadly) people that can't afford to provide an adequate Seder dinner for their families. We try to help as many as we can.

Thanks to the generous donations of staple foods and monetary gifts, we now pack 120 parcels once a month. This means that around 950 people, mainly children, are helped. Of these, 20 parcels go to needy families who have physical impairments in different areas of Netanya.

We are now also assisting in a new project, where we provide hot lunches for 30 Ethiopian children from disadvantaged homes in this same neighborhood of Neot Shaked in Netanya. These children are in an afternoon program to help them succeed in first grade. They come to the community center after school, four times a week and in most cases this is their only hot meal of the day.

As we have to empty our cupboards before, at this time we are more in need of money than items that may not be kosher for Passover.

Please contact Shiphra Davis 054-474 5701, Hadassa Birnbaum 09 834 0557, Rika Meyerowitz 09 83349610 or Marian Burck 09 832 0576 and we will be delighted to collect your donations. You can of course mail them to ESRA, but earmark them to the "Hand in Hand Food Pantry" project.

Thank you for your support in the past and looking forward to your support in the future. We wish you a happy and kosher Passover.
