Americans, did you recently receive a letter regarding a new Medicare Card that will no longer have your Social Security Number anywhere on the card?  You will need a Medicare Card if you are hospitalized in America. This letter has caused confusion since Social Security works mostly with domestic Americans.

Reaching out to the US Embassy Jerusalem, I was told you can request a replacement or new Medicare Card. Email FBU.Jerusalem@ssa.gov as follows:

•Use a subject line of: Medicare Card
 And provide:

•Name and Surname (family name)

•Mailing address and Phone Number

•The last 4 digits of your Social Security Number (SSN)

Please allow 6-8 weeks for your card to arrive.
