Have you ever opened your paper first thing in the morning and said to yourself, “TGIF” (thank G-d it’s Friday), and then, as an afterthought, “what happened to the rest of the week that just flew by?”

You retire from your 9-5 workload and tell yourself, “now it’s my time, time for all the things I have been putting off doing all my working life – time for ME.”

Yes, my way of life changed, but believe me I don’t know how I had time to work, let alone have ‘my treats’ such as the occasional manicure or pedicure.

My weeks flash by with such speed I am convinced that now I am in my retirement years there is a conspiracy distorting my memory so my days are filled with “Where did I put my glasses/keys etc” – the list is endless.  Now I’m not in my dotage but there are certain factors out there trying to make me old before my time (there’s that word ‘time’ again).

I’m as keen as the next person to look good, stay in fashion without shelling out a fortune, wear jeans, but what do the shops sell for a person of my diminutive stature and larger hip size (so I’m not six feet tall with long thin legs and arms). In three words – not a lot.  They, of course, cater to those stick-thin ‘herrings’ and unless I enter the hallowed doorways of the expensive boutiques, I am without doubt not able to disguise my age and look ‘hip’.

It’s a shame I am sitting at my computer writing about time when I have so much to do and so little time in my busy day to do it.  Bye, bye must rush, time is of the essence!
