Until now, there was no single platform where one could find information or carry on a dialogue amongst organizations in the volunteering sector in Israel. The recently introduced "Volunteering in Israel" portal is a project of the National Council of Community Centers, Daronet, Microsoft and Joint Distribution Committee Israel.

Volunteer organizations from Israel and from all over the world were invited to send information about their volunteer activities and organizations. The portal, which is run entirely by volunteers, includes relevant information articles and news.

The objective is to promote volunteerism in Israel by providing information about volunteer opportunities and organizations in Israel. The aim is to increase the level of professionalism in the volunteer sector and to raise awareness about volunteering among the general population.

Specific objectives include:

* Create a centralized database with information about volunteering in Israel;

* Match potential volunteers (both Israeli residents and visitors to Israel) with organizations that need their help;

* Allow volunteering organizations to share information and learn from each other;

* Provide exposure for volunteer activities and organizations in Israel.

Your comments, feedback and information about your organizations and important events are most welcome.
