Esra Projects

Befrienders: Do you have a free morning once a week to visit the housebound and lonely? Training will be given. If interested please call: Val 054 469 6512 or Judy 09 748 2957

Herzliya: Nativ after-school project; children with serious behavioural problems need a volunteer for one hour, three times a week, to be one on one with a child. Please contact Esra project coordinator: Irene 0504 237 0071

Netanya: Esra sewing centers require volunteers with some sewing experience. Nina 09 862 3228

Netanya: Working with the blind; if you have a couple of hours to spare, even on a fortnightly basis, we need your help. Aviva 09 833 1087 (n.s.)

Municipal/Public Projects

Herzliya: Moreshet h olocaust survivors’ center

(1) Volunteer drivers needed every Wednesday from 16:00 – 18:00 to transport participants in Herzliya to Beit Moreshet in Neve Amal.

(2) Yiddish speakers to form and run a Yiddish discussion group requested by Applette, Esra’s volunteer English teacher at the Center.

Herzliya: Food basket distribution: drivers and schleppers to distribute prepared food baskets on Thursday 17:00-19:30 from the packing center in Yad Hatisha (Shaviv) Herzliya. To volunteer, contact Adele 09 957 2513

Kfar Saba: ””Melo ha tene” food project is in need of drivers for the delivery of food on Sunday afternoons. Phyllis 09 767 6926

Raanana: Table to table; a project run by Ilana Bank at a warehouse on Katzin street needs volunteers to help on Thursdays from 16:00 -18:00 to pack food and from 18:30 – 19:30 to help deliver the parcels. 050 857 7467

Tel Aviv: Food distribution center; serves needy families residing in Tel Aviv and Jaffa and is operated by the Jaffa Institute. It was developed as a result of the cries for help by the children who participate in our after school programs.
