Do you remember that line in the song, "People who need people are the luckiest people in the world"?

What does one do when one is a person who needs people but you are alone and lonely?

What does one do when one is stuck indoors and it is freezing and your heater is not working and you do not have the strength to go out and do your shopping?

What does one do if one is elderly and a ceiling light bulb needs changing?

What does one do if one lives at a distance from one's parents and cannot meet all their needs: visiting and helping them to go to appointments or knowing that they are not eating right and not being able to provide daily meals?

What does one do if one is feeling sick and needs someone to fetch medicines from the pharmacy?

There are plenty more "what does one do" which can be answered by the exciting new project - "Protea HomeCare".

At Beth Protea we have a long waiting list, so we decided that with our experience and knowledge, expertise and above all our caring, we would like to extend our services to embrace the English speakers of Kfar Shmaryahu, Herzliya Pituach, Herzliya, Ramat Hasharon and Raanana.

This service is modular and people can choose what they want from the service, but the main thing is that it provides security and peace of mind.

The basic peace of mind package includes:

  1. Case manager who visits each member once or twice a week.
  2. Social worker support coordinating to services in the community.
  3. Minor home repairs.
  4. Networking.

There are additional services such as meals, laundry services, emergency call button and many more.

In addition to people who need our services, we want people to join us in this project as volunteers and caregivers, and in other ways.
