Bayit Cham (a warm home) in Kiryat Nordau, Netanya continues to thrive under the leadership of its dynamic counselor and two new social workers, with the help of special activity teachers and volunteers. It is open five days a week from 13:00 to 18:30 and provides a rich program of learning, playing, art, group discussions and enrichment life classes, such as cooking, make-up and self defense. But, there is no doubt that the hot meal provided by a caring caterer and funded by ESRA is a central part of the program.

This year ESRA is also providing extra English tutoring as well as a games activity. From time to time ESRA also contributes towards special activities such as mother-daughter happenings and summer outings. Below is a thank you letter from the Bayit Cham Professional Team.

Dear ESRA,

The Bayit Cham Girls' Trip to Jerusalem

Forty girls from went on a trip to Jerusalem. The outing took place in the late afternoon and evening hours. It started with a hot, tasty dinner with a rich choice of meats at the Avazi Restaurant. After the meal, we toured the Old City and prayed at the Western Wall. This was followed by a guided tour of the Wall’s tunnels.

The aim of the trip was to expand the girls' knowledge of Jewish history and tradition and to strengthen their connection to their roots and heritage. The girls greatly enjoyed the opportunity that was afforded them – both from the knowledge they gained, as well as the depth of personal experience each girl felt. We returned to Netanya in the late hours of the night, tired but fulfilled.

Thank you very much for your generous donation that made it possible for us to give the girls this spiritual experience. We wish all of us a year of continued cooperative effort and fruitful endeavor.

With much appreciation,

The Bayit Cham Professional Team

Department of Social Welfare

Teenage Girls Section, Netanya
