Happenings in the Students Build a Neighbourhood projects:

The students and their pupils received a donation of tickets from Entegris to visit the Dialogue in the Dark at the Holon museum. During the tour they were guided through completely dark rooms by a blind guide. In each room they had to figure out where they were, using only the senses of touch and hearing. They were led through rooms simulating a bedroom, a street, a boat, etc. At the end of the tour they sat in a dark coffee shop for a discussion with the tour guide. The teenagers asked questions and conversed with the guide about his life and the world of the blind in general.
It was a fascinating and unique experience for the teenagers, who have their own difficulties, to be exposed to a different life experience and understanding of a different kind of disadvantage.
