A few years ago, several immigrants got together and inaugurated an Olim football league in Israel. The league was an avenue for many football-loving immigrants to continue playing in a structured and semi-competitive league. From its small beginnings with only several teams, the league today spans most of the main immigrant communities, with over 100 players coming from Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Raanana, Modiin, Beit Shemesh and Netanya, consisting of eight teams in total.  In addition to many English speakers, the league has attracted players from Latin America, France and Spain, and there is also a group of Israeli-born players who have integrated themselves into the various teams. The league receives coverage in English language newspapers here in Israel and abroad.

This year, the league team from Modiin-Bet Shemesh has been sponsored by ESRA. Each player will proudly wear the logo of ESRA on his football shirt as they play each week during the year.
