Everyone knew the tunes and most of the words – but Maxine Ray, Judy Copeland and Gita Franco had prepared a songbook with all the words, so no one had any excuse for not exercising their vocal chords to the full. Whether it was "You are my sunshine", "If I were a rich man", or "Delilah", it was clear that the 20 Esra members who came to the Esra Sing Along that these ladies organized on Thursday, April 3, at Beit Fisher, all definitely "had got rhythm", "could have sung all night" (well, if they weren't "getting married in the morning" or weren't "killed softly with your words") and that no one was going to "fence them in".

Gita was in great form at the piano, and Merv Medicks came along to provide us with some guitar accompaniment too. Maxine got us all singing whether row by row or men vs. women and there is no doubt that a good time was had by all. Delicious refreshments (including Judy's special cheese cake) rounded the evening off in excellent party spirit.

Another Sing Along is planned for June17, so if you missed this one, keep your eyes open for the announcement. "With a little bit of luck" it will certainly "be luverly" and "some enchanted evening" and though not "on the street where you live" there are unlikely to be "raindrops that keep falling on your head" so you can take a "sentimental journey" in the "surrey with the fringe on top" and you may even "get to the church on time!"
