Aliza came to Israel 50 years ago from South Africa, an ardent Habonim Zionist, and settled in Givat Shapira, where she still lives today. Aliza has brought to the Ethiopian Embroidery Project incredible organizational techniques and skills, infusing the project with her own special brand of efficiency. This unique cottage industry which preserves skills and empowers Ethiopian women while providing them with income was developing and just needed the pragmatic efficient problem solving Aliza to step in and figure out how to make use of the resources. The project is growing and expanding thanks in no small part to Aliza's influence and dedication. Thank you Aliza.

Mr. David K. is one of the wonderful friends with whom Esra has been blessed. He so very generously supports the work of the Welfare Fund by providing substantial scholarships to students, mainly from the Former Soviet Union, who are in Israel without their families. David has contributed to the fund for the past three years. He chooses to personally interview every student and takes an interest in their plans for the future, asking only that the students give back to the community by means of volunteering. David K. is a Holocaust survivor and his spirit of giving to those in need is something to be admired. Thank you so much David for your ongoing help.
