A group from ESRA started out on a rainy February Sunday from Tel Aviv and Raanana to Haifa. As we traveled up the coastal highway the weather got progressively better, and by the time we arrived in Haifa it was beautiful, sunny and cool. Our first stop was the bottom of the Bahai Gardens and the site of the Templer houses. Next we went to the Castra Mall in Haifa which is a mall with an artistic theme and a wonderful doll museum. The museum actually consists of dioramas of Biblical stories and Israeli history all of which were made by one woman, a Holocaust survivor. Then we went to the Technion where we saw a very informative film. Next, we visited the Haifa University Museum with its archeological finds and a restored cargo boat. We made a quick stop at a wonderful sculpture garden and finally saw the Bahai temple from above. It was a great trip! We had good weather and nice people. Thanks to our guide Irma Zaslansky in Haifa and to Bess Hoffman for organizing the trip.
