Story and photos by Linda Glazer

After accepting Ishmael Khaldi’s kind invitation to experience Bedouin hospitality, an ESRA group  visited the small Bedouin village of Khawalid in the Lower Galilee. We strolled through the village with Ishmael, the place which keeps on luring him back – in between overseas diplomatic assignments for Israel – while he explained some of their traditions. It’s his mission as a loyal Bedouin to help his community work with their Jewish neighbors to make Israel, the country he loves, a better place for all.
